Workaday
Workaday is a daily task organizer for college students.
Project carried out in a group of 4 people with all members participating in each stage of the process.
Product created with: Amanda Costa, Simone Aparecida & William Salvario
Challenge.
Find a pain point for the university public that could be solved by a design project and identify the key question that would guide the project: How can we organize the routine to improve the quality of life of university students?
Result.
MVP of a digital product to help university students better control their study time, without compromising their routine and well-being.
Learning journey
-
University students do not follow a study routine.
-
They need focus and organization.
-
Most like to use agendas.
-
The public uses an app or electronic device to organize their routine.
-
They would like to have a product that would help them better in their daily lives.
-
Most take care of mental health.
RESEARCH
To understand our target audience, we started a CSD Matrix listing our assumptions about their day-to-day reality and what problems would be encountered, based on this we created Desk Research and divided the information found in the Matrix to complete the research.

We developed a research guide to more accurately validate the information acquired in the CSD. With quantitative research (form answered by 24 people) and qualitative research (interviews carried out with 5 people), we were able to identify the public's main pain points and the path to follow in the project.
With verbatims, we came to some insights from our university audience: the issue of organization and time management.

PERSONAS
We decided it would be helpful to have a simplified view of the audience to get a glimpse of their personality and help us understand their needs.
Combining information from our interviewees, we identify users' motivations and context through Job Stories.
With this, we arrive at the "How Might We" question for the project:
How can we organize the routine to improve the quality of life for university students?

Idealizing
We got together to develop ideas with Crazy 8, so we would have enough to explore possibilities. We defined the path as a digital product to help university students with their study routine, make better use of their daily lives and perform better on tasks.

We began market research for similar products that would meet these student needs. After that, we brainstormed features, recording what we could have in our product and moved on to developing the user's objectives and task flows.

With the flowchart assembled, we made Wireframe sketches based on researched references and built our prototype.
Solution
We work with the card model in order to visually speed up the search for topics and accesses. MVP was developed for registering subjects and tasks and has a personalized study timer to help maintain balanced time management in tasks.
VISUAL
We chose our product's palette in sober tones - to bring balance and tranquility to the look - following the psychology of colors: blue (associated with harmony and balance), red (excitement) and orange (energy and creativity).
We opted for illustrations, typography and organic assets to keep the look fluid, light and relaxed.
Home on cards for viewing and quick access to the calendar, reminders, materials and tasks following date and time order.
Home on cards for viewing and quick access to the calendar, reminders, materials and tasks following date and time order.
Registration of tasks relating to the subject involved and customizing study time.
List of reminders for the selected date.
Study timer screen and break time previously customized by the user.
Login screen with the ability to sign in with Google for faster access, save information and, in the future, add/share classmates in tasks.
Next steps...
In our Should Have, in the future it would be possible to add classmates to tasks so that they can follow and be notified, as well as connecting to a SmartWatch for quick notifications and timer control.

But before that, do a usability test to identify whether we are helping to solve the problem and what changes the product would need.
